bombed in Namsenfjord. (GAUL and ARAB - yard no. 1006 - were part of the British Expeditionary forces assisting Norway against the German invasion, providing anti-submarine protection for troopships. However, after the Germans held Trondheim the trawlers were involved in evacuating troops and GAUL and other trawlers were bombed. ARAB's master was given the V.C. for rescuing trawler crews during the bombing.) |
