WITHY ALEXANDER, HARTLEPOOL

Formed as a partnership between Edward Withy, who had been employed by the Stockton shipbuilder Richardson, Duck and Edward Alexander who had been head cashier at Denton, Gray. They took over the latter company's former Middleton shipyard. After Alexander left in 1873 the company was operated in Withy's name only (see separate list).
